In the picture above the Eazy Ridin' Camaro, driven by either Mustapha Errol or Peter Crane, is burning out.
On the right is Freeman Rogers driving the Aardvark fuel altered.

These three pictures were sent in by Andrew Bennett and are unique, as far as this site is concerned anyway, in that they show the second and last meeting held at Crosland Moor near Huddersfield on 31 August/1 September 1974.

That is Roz Prior above driving the beautiful The Fast Lady slingshot dragster.
This car, when driven by Dennis Priddle, was the first to run under 7 seconds outside of the USA.

The next collection of pictures were submitted by Geoff James who now resides down under in New Zealand.
This picture shows Ag's Barra owned by Angus McPhail and powerred by a 250cc Aerial Arrow motor.

This is journalist Dennis Jenkinson possibly sitting on George Brown's Nero.  The venue is definitely Greenham Common which was being used for standing start mile sprints.

John Hobbs on his original 500cc Triumph-powered Olympus, also at Greenham Common.

Norman Hyde's original Triumph Trident was usually attached to a sidecar and set world sprint records in this form.  It is obviously set up as a solo in this picture.

Pete Allan's twin-engined bike.  Pete later emigrated to Australia and was well known in the drag racing scene there and was nicknamed 'Pommy Pete' Allan.

Two shots of Vic Philips' sidecar rig which he called Impulse on account of the Hillman Imp engine he used.  Geoff thinks that Vic made the beautiful fairing as well.

The last of Geoff's shots shows Crescent Coupe in about 1967/68.
This unusual car was campaigned by the team of Cliff Jones and Mike Treutlein.

The next collection of four pictures is from Ian Hodges.
The Doctor Jazz altered was raced by Clive Linguard and, unusually, was powered by a 2965cc Humber engine.

Also from 1975 is the Page brothers' superb Panic! Senior Competition Altered.

Dave Rees' Papa's Pram featured a 3400cc Jaguar mill.

No problem with identification with this car.  Even when it was first built it had the retro look - Pat Cuss' beautiful Ratcatcher hemi-powered slingshot.

The final collection for this page comes from well-known drag racing figure Ian Turboville.
These are two shots of the late Danny Johnson from the USA.
Danny came over to race in the UK a number of times with his single and double engined Harley Davidson-powered bikes.

There was a time when street cars were - how shall I put it - less than rapid.  This next section shows some of the cars which changed all that.
On the left is Gary Goggin's Super 'Vette which he used to drive to the strip before he traded up to the Clunk Click Camaro shown on the right which he imported from the USA.

Importing race cars was the way to go at the time and this is Keith Harvie's Firebrewed Camaro.

John Woolfe Racing imported the Kielbasi Kid Camaro but sold it on to Kevin Pilling who re-named it Satan's Toy and raced it with considerable success.

I have always found the 1000cc Vincent V-twin engine to be a thing of great beauty.  The bloke who designed it must have been a frustrated sculptor - I definitely want one for the hall table but don't tell the wife.
This is a particularly well presented example because it was installed in Derek Chinn and Ian Messenger's Pegasus - a machine which always went every bit as well as it looked.
